Home vs Home Page

There's no place like home and we have been blessed with a great many of them. Yet, wherever we travel we are always drawn back to the USA and particularly the Portland, Oregon area. Of course, family ties are the primary draw but we also greatly enjoy the comfort of familiar places. Especially as we grow older we try to re-visit the scenes of our happy youth. But wait, this place is not how I remember it! Is my memory faulty or has it greatly changed? Both, I am afraid.

Oregon, The Pacific Northwest

Michael was born and raised in Oregon; Karin in Washington, the state, not D.C.. They raised their family in Oregon and now have children in Oregon, Washington and Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania, Central East Coast

Our son relocated to a rural area outside of Harrisburg, PA so this area has become our new home away from home. Fortunately one of Michael's brothers and one of his nieces also live in this section of the country.

Our favorite side trip when touring this region was to Lancaster County--Amish country.
